NIAS performs comprehensive Risk Management Review for a Federal Government Entity


In collaboration with Brennan & Stuart, Inc., NIAS performed a Claims Processing and Procedures Review and Benchmarking Analysis for Argonne National Laboratory. The analysis consisted of review and recommendations where deficiencies were noted in the handling of their claims, underwriting procedures, auditing and loss control initiatives.

The Benchmarking Analysis identified factors that affect the incidence and severity of injuries and their associated costs. Claim-level data provided valuable insight into state cost-drivers, emerging injuries, and inflationary trends that serve to threaten workers’ safety. Claim-level data also provides important benchmarks against which cost containment strategies may be measured. Benchmarking against industry standards included the Claim Characteristic Series published by NCCI, Inc. as well as Workers Compensation Research Institute Detailed Benchmark/Evaluation. Recommendations were given in areas that were found deficient when compared to industry norms.
